To ensure you are observing the correct student, you must first obtain a pairing code that will connect you to their account. Once generated, this unique code will be valid for 7 days or until it is used, whichever comes first. If a second parent/guardian would like to observe a student, another pairing code can be generated, but only after the first is used.

The student pairing code can be generated in the Student Canvas App, or when a student logs on to Canvas from any web browser. Follow the directions below, and select Next from the bottom of this page to continue.

1. Log in to the student's account (if not already open)

1. Go to the Canvas website from any device and log in to the student's account

2. Choose the 3 stacked lines from the top of the app then select Settings

3. Select the option for Pair with Observer

3. Choose the button that says Pair with Observer, either on the right side or at the bottom of the screen

4. If you are using the Parent Canvas App to set up your account, continue to the next step (where you will scan the QR code on the screen). Otherwise, copy the pairing code that is displayed.
